Similar to the famous “Speakers’ Corner” in the north end of Hyde Park in London, we are providing a digital “Speakers’ Corner” via ZOOM each month for 3 AGBC Munich members to speak about their business projects and opportunities to our members and members of our networking partners. The total time for the Webcast would be approximately 55 minutes – 3 x 15 minutes plus time for introduction and concluding comments from the moderator.
If you would like to use this opportunity to present your project and/or opportunity to our audience for our June session, please get in touch with Karl Gruns at treasurer@agbc.com
This month, our featured speakers and their topics are:
Consul General Meghan Gregonis – “Moving the Transatlantic Partnership
Meghan Gregonis has been the US Consul General in Munich since July 2018. She has championed trade and investment topics during her time here, including efforts to bring innovators closer together through the first Transatlantic Innovation Week last month. In addition to working to deepen U.S.-Bavaria relations during this time, she has also focused on engaging youth. With her upcoming departure, she will give us an exclusive brief wrap-up of her experiences and insights during her 3 years in Munich and her personal view of what is to come in the near future.
Jonah Otto – ” International Relations and University Performance”
Jonah will be presenting his most recent research exploring the relationship between international relations and university performance. Utilizing theory founded in the internationalization of education, his work establishes a link between the state of transatlantic relations and the ability of universities to leverage international partnerships to achieve their missions of education, research and service to society.”
Jon Yager – “A Film That Breaks Everything”
Jon’s best friend, who has been a Hollywood screenwriter for 45 years, and Jon talk twice a week. In a recent call he said: Jon, if you write a film about racism, you upset the racists. If you write a film about guns, you upset the gun owners. But if you write a film that challenges the status quo, you upset everyone. He also said of this film: This is a film that breaks everything. Tune in for Jon at the Speaker’s Corner … if you dare.
We look forward to your participation on these interesting topics. After registration you will receive the Zoom-link for this event.
