On June 01, 2022, the revised EU Group Exemption Regulation Vertical (VBER 2022) will come into force, which in particular for the manufacturers of branded products and for the offline and online retail trade will create new opportunities and chances for the distribution of goods and services within the twenty-seven EU member states and the countries of the European Economic Area. The new law will also have an impact on cross-border consumer purchases and numerous companies are currently reviewing their existing distribution schemes and contracts to be compliant with the brand-new law regulations.
US companies doing business in Europe are also well advised to take a closer look into the contents of VBER 2022.
By being an AGBC member since a number of years already, Jochen is a German lawyer with own law office in the Munich region and also long-term Legal Counsel of the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) and of the Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry (FESI). He is providing legal advice to numerous reputed German and international reputed corporate clients by accompanying them in their operative business. His special expertise is the legal structuring of European and international distribution schemes. Jochen has been actively involved at FESI level in the communication with the authorities in Brussels and the lobbying efforts of the European sporting goods industry sector during the revision phase of VBER 2022. On May 12, he will attend an international web conference, where two EU Commission representatives being the main actors in this field took will provide additional specific information relating to this topic.
