4 Questions to Paulina de los Santos

Paulina joined AGBC Munich in August 2026.

Q1: Tell us about yourself – how long have you been in Munich, what brought you here and what industry are you in?

My name is Paulina and I’m originally from Weslaco, Texas! It’s a small border town that’s part of the greater South Texas region called the Rio Grande Valley. I initially moved to Munich in 2016 for a master’s in Sustainable Resource Management at TUM. I fell in love with the city and have been here ever since.

I’m currently open to strategic communications and content roles within international organizations operating in areas such as technology, AI, innovation, sustainability or transformation. My background has focused on translating complex topics into clear narratives that strengthen executive positioning, support organizational change, and help drive strategic partnerships and business growth.

Q2: How did you learn about AGBC, what was your reason for becoming a member and why would you recommend others to join?

Earlier this year at a Democrats Abroad stammtisch I met the lovely Beverly Mcneely-Feuss. She spoke highly about AGBC and suggested that I join her at the February monthly meeting. I did so and felt energized in the environment. After meeting and speaking with Larry, I joined the next day. Larry is indeed the king of networking!

I joined because in our day and age of LinkedIn, the power of in-person networking is needed now more than ever. I have truly enjoyed getting to meet new people in a city that I have known for nearly a decade. It has reminded me of the beauty in leaving one’s bubble and I would absolutely recommend for others to join and do so too! I have also enjoyed learning and sharing during the monthly meetings, and think that the variety in topics is perfect for a curious person such as myself.

Q3: If you could choose one of the next AGBC event topics, what would it be?

I’d love to hear from an industry-side panel (from different sectors) on the current status and future of industrial AI. I think many of us are very familiar with consumer AI (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, etc.) but it would be valuable to hear from leaders sharing insights on the topic.

Aside from industrial AI, when I think of AI in general I wonder: how will my career be affected within the near future? And: What skills do I need to obtain now to stay on par with rapid developments?

Q4: What is your favorite spot/activity in Munich (or surroundings) and why?

One of my favorite places to go to for pizza and yummy fries is Gans Woanders. I’m definitely biased, because that’s where I met my partner Tim in 2021! If you haven’t yet been, its a very alternative, witchy tree-house cafe/bar with live music sometimes as well. Its a lovely vibe!

Outside of Munich, my newfound favorite easy hike is the Schliersbergalm. From the train station, its only about an hour to the top and you have epic views and great food. They even have french fries (can you tell I like fries) and slushies! The best part is that you can save your shins and take a rodelbahn down. I’d def recommend this hike if you have visitors or are looking for a more chill hike on the weekend.

Thank you, Paulina!
