SUMMARY:AGBC May Explore the City: In the footsteps of Freddie Mercury
DESCRIPTION:Our May Monthly Meeting will be another Explore the City Tour.\
 n\nJoin us for a guided tour in the footsteps of Freddie Mercury\n\nFreddi
 e\, one of the most famous rock stars of his time and lead singer of the b
 and Queen spent 6 years in Munich (from 1079 to 1985). He often called the
 m the most happy time of his live. Let's visit his favourite spots in and 
 around Glockenbachviertel and Gärtnerplatz.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nMeeting point: 
 Sendlinger Tor at 6 p.m.\n\nAfter learning more about the history of the b
 and QUEEN\, Freddie Mercury and his good Munich friend and night companion
  Barbara Valentin\, we set off on an evening that Freddie must have experi
 enced many times before.\n\nFirst we go to a place that was close to his a
 partment and is still almost unchanged. Here we can feel how Freddie enjoy
 ed his privacy and anonymity back then. With the first feeling of a typica
 l pub visit\, we continue towards the Glockenbachviertel. On the way we st
 op at a pub where Freddie once had to swing a broom and learn how it came 
 to be.\n\nThroughout the tour we pass many small\, sometimes quirky  venu
 es\, all of which held a special attraction for the singer in their own wa
 y. After all the stops at memorable places and many charming stories about
  the singer’s experiences during his time in Munich\, the tour ends near
  Isartor at about 8 p.m.\n\nAfter the tour\, at about 8.15 p.m. we meet fo
 r an optional dinner at Braunauer Hof\, Frauenstraße 40\, 80469 München.
